Hello Sisters and Brothers,
We are certainly in some very interesting times and unchartered waters. No one has ever experienced anything like this in our lifetimes. As a result of the physical distancing rules, we have been tasked with finding new ways of holding meetings and grievances. The City has been in an emergency lockdown since the middle of March. Since the announcement of the state of emergency by Tom Sampson, Lead for the Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA), everything has changed in the way we do business. We are all in this together and we all need to do our part. I know everyone out there has their own worries and the fear is real. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to call the Union Office.
We did still hold an election in March and I would like to thank everyone who took the time out of their busy lives to vote. I would also like to thank you for, once again, electing me as your President.
Please, let’s be safe out there and take good care of yourselves and your families. We appreciate the safe and hard work you all do for the citizens of this fine City.
